Los Barriles is located on the ocean shore, 40 miles north of the San Jose Airport and 75 miles south of La Paz. The East Cape is easy to access via a paved Federal highway but is a world apart from those highly developed areas. It is called the "Aquarium of the World."
While classified as a desert with less the 10 inches of rainfall annually, temperatures generally do not rise above 80 degrees F. for 10 months out of the year.
